Atiku promises to end Asuu Strike

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has made a pledge to end the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on his very first day as president, if elected.

University lecturers began an indefinite strike, precisely on the 5th of November, 2018 to protest against the federal government which has failed to fulfill the promise that has been previously reached between both parties.

Several meetings held between officials on both sides has failed to invoke a valid response.

While speaking at the Silverbird Man of the Year event on Sunday, February 3rd, 2019, Atiku said he would put a proximate end to the crisis if he wins the presidential election on the 16th of February, 2019

He expressed how much he values education and promises to triple the budgetary allocation of education if elected.
