Events that broke the internet in 2018

Woohoo!! With just a few days to the end of the year, we can certainly say that 2018 was a  great year that came with its share of moments as well as several stories that broke the internet. Check out  our rundown on some of the stories that broke the internet this year.

  • Assurance:

The internet went wild as we woke up to the news that the ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ had bought his babe a 45M Porsche and the car had the plate number ‘ASSURANCE’.

Few hours after this news, Davido released a song called Assurance which was one of the most talked about events of 2018. Who would want this type of assurance in 2019?

  • Tobi And Ceec:

Year after year, Big Brother Naija keeps bringing drama to our screens and this year was no different. The theme of this year’s game was “Double Wahala” and Cynthia Nwadiora popularly addressed as Ceec gave us all of that and more. The most talked about part of this season was the heated quarrel between Tobi and Ceec. This was definitely  one of the most talked about events of this year as Nigerians cheered Tobi for being  the ‘perfect gentleman’.

  • Davido at NYSC:

August 28th  2018 started out as a normal day, until Davido uploaded a picture with him in his Khaki Uniform and he captioned it “Tying up all loose ends”. Not only did that happen but when his fellow Corp members were asked to sit on the floor while he addressed them, Nigerians weren’t having any of that and he was definitely talked about.

  • Linda Ikeji’s Pregnancy:

Whew, when the media mogul herself breaks the net, you definitely know that its something juicy. Linda Ikeji shocked us all when she revealed that she was pregnant.

No one definitely saw that coming -nor did we expect the cute baby boy that followed months after.

  • Wizkid  and Sola Ogudu:

The baby mama saga between pop star, Wizkid, and his baby mama ,Sola Ogudu, definitely got us talking this year as his first baby mama released several chats they had which put Wizkid under scrutiny from the masses based on irresponsibility.    

Well, 2018 was most certainly an exciting year, we can’t wait for all the juicy stories 2019 would bring.
