*sigh* This time last week, we were hoping for a peaceful election weekend in the next two days but, INEC pulled an ‘Amaka’ on us!
The presidential election that was postponed from 16th of February 2019, is now set to hold on the 23rd of February 2019.
It goes without saying that Nigerians are not as excited as they were last week but we still have to participate in deciding our future as a country.
So, in hopes that the electoral body does not interrupt our plans this weekend, here are a few tips for the election weekend.
The squirrels are lending us this idea so keep your smart remark aside for a second and start purchasing non-perishables that will tide you over this weekend. Most stores will be closed from Friday afternoon till Sunday afternoon/evening. To avoid the rush on Friday, be a squirrel and stack up your nuts today! (bad joke?)
This can not be stressed enough! When you are heading out to do your patriotic duty, remember your medical one as well. Carry a bottle of water with you and make sure you have a face cap in case of the unforgiving Nigerian Sun.
Most important of all, is not getting carried away. If you are going out with your phone or devices, always have your hand or sight on them. There may be occasional ruckus by other voters during which petty thieves might attempt to steal from distracted people.
ABOVE ALL ELSE, DON’T ACCEPT BRIBE OR BE SWAYED TOWARDS MAKING AN INFLUENCED CHOICE!
YOUR VOTE COUNTS!!
MAY THE BEST CANDIDATE WIN!!!
