Our Youth Achiever for the week is OgheneKaro Ibada Omu! AKA Stainless Baby, Sisi Karo, Iya Funmi…
Oghenekaro Omu is the founder of Sanitary Aid for Nigerian Girls (S.A.N.G), a non-profit organisation that aims to provide free sanitary pads and menstrual health advocacy for underprivileged young girls. She is also into marketing and brand specialism.
It all started with the tweet below: https://twitter.com/duchesskk/status/820714492673851394?s=21
After hearing complains from people as regards the increase in the price of sanitary pads, she sent out the above tweets so as to help underaged girls in the country.
This act has been celebrated all over the world as she and her team have now distributed sanitary pads to thousands of girls all over the world and from there – S.A.N.G was born.
Sanitary Aid for Nigerian Girls (S.A.N.G) which was created to provide free sanitary products also undergoes monthly outreaches where donors can give donations or sanitary products such as pads, tampons, wipes, soap, towels, toilet bags, and undergarments to support girls from low-income families and females in IDP camps across Nigeria.
She and her team also teach the girls about menstrual hygiene, handing out the S.A.N.G Period Handbook which teaches girls the basics of menstrual hygiene.
She is definitely a phenomenal woman!
